No, not Paul Walker. (2 soon? Sorry.) The Wrap reports 5’9″ Israeli model-cum-actress Gal Gadot (Fast And Furious 6) has been cast as Wonder Woman in Batman vs Superman, opening July 17, 2015.
Director Zack Snyder stated: “Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal [Gadot] an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.” [The Wrap]
Earlier we heard rumors about a “tall, brunette, athletic and exotic” woman being wanted for a role which the actors’ agents assumed could be Wonder Woman. Then Variety reported Gal Gadot, Olga Kurylenko, and Elodie Yung had tested for the role.
Congrats to Gal Gadot on becoming the second most popular Fast and Furious castmember on search engines today. She’ll have to start a charity, make a ton of friends, and then suffer a needless tragedy at a way-too-young age if she wants to get to number one.
