Guess Who Put The Kibosh On A ‘Star Trek’ TV Series Starring Worf

Our unofficial Star Trek week continues with an interview Michael Dorn (Worf!) gave to Big Shiny Robot. He says a TV series was in the works which would focus on his Klingon character from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Considering how Enterprise performed, returning to a familiar, successful character might have been appealing to Paramount and CBS. So why didn’t we get the Worf show? Chalk that up as another reason for fans to be angry at J.J. Abrams.

“Last year, there was interest and I talked to a couple producers, and we actually had [a] pitch meeting with Paramount and CBS,” Dorn said. So why haven’t we heard more about this Worf series before now? “Business things got in the way in terms of the J.J. Abrams movie coming out and CBS/Paramount and their relationship with J.J. Abrams,” he explained. “I don’t think they wanted to step on his toes by putting a new series on, but it’s not dead yet.” [THR]

Dor Sho Gha! Worf just can’t catch a break.

If they’re continuing to plan a Star Trek TV series, we humbly submit they’re still welcome to use our Christina Hendricks based TNG reboot idea. Also, this picture from earlier in the week seems prescient.
