‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Introduces Its World-Ending Villain In A New Footage-Filled Featurette

If there’s one thing that sets X-Men: Apocalypse apart from past entries in the series, it’s Oscar Isaac’s titular villain. X-Men movie bad guys have typically been a bit weak, but that can’t be said of Apocalypse, a true world-ending supervillain if there ever was one. Of course, if you’re not a longtime reader of X-Men comics, you may not be that familiar with Apocalypse, so Fox has released a new featurette, which explains the guy’s whole deal and shows a bit of what went into creating him. The featurette contains some new footage, and some cool behind-the-scenes shots, so it’s definitely worth a look. Check it out above.

While we’re on the apocalyptic subject, Fox has also released a new ’80s-tastic featurette entitled In The Footsteps Of…En Sabah Nur. For those who don’t get what Fox is referencing, Leonard Nimoy hosted a series called In Search Of… from 1977 – 1982, which purported to dig into the real stories behind various paranormal phenomenon, so this is both a fun look at the new X-Men movie, and a nice tribute to the departed Mr. Spock.

Now I kind of want the whole movie to have faux Leonard Nimoy voice-overs. The mysteries of En Sabah Nur will all be revealed when X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters May 27.
