It may seem like Jordan Brand has exhausted all the possibilities for retros but they still have some heat stashed to sneaker fiends scratching that constant itch. The latest pair of kicks to emerge from the vaults is the Air Jordan 9 Low. Once upon a time, the only way you were getting your hands on these was if you were willing to shell out gobs of money for the Derek Anderson PEs and you had to wear a size 13 as well since that’s the only size they were produced in.
Now, anyone who wants a pair can have them and, yes, it takes away a little bit of the allure of the shoe but only by a small fraction. They did dress these up slightly different from the PEs by using two different types of black leather including a faux snakeskin mudguard as an added touch. The AJ9 is a love/hate model anyway and the low cut version has been absent from shelves for over 20 years. So, most people who do favor them will be happy as hell – I know I am – to grab the latest incarnation when they release on Saturday, April 16.
