GoldLink has been relatively quiet since dropping his slept-on And Then We Didn’t Talk debut late last year. Well, if you don’t count tearing up the festival scene and actually getting real money. Now that he’s back in the booth, the eclectic DMV rapper is ramping up his output with a jamming new single called “Fall In Love.”
The contemporary love song is fueled by a combination of groovy production from Kaytranada and BADBADNOTGOOD, two well-respected names in the game right now, who bring their penchant for live instrumentation to the fold and amp up the funk. Their smooth blend of bubbly bass, vocal pads and inebriated flutes pull the best out of Link’s upbeat delivery, allowing him to effortlessly glide in and out of singing and rapping with ease. Add in a high-powered feature from Ciscero that practically steals the show and you’ve got a bonafide hit record that’s bound to have the go go scene moving.
If we’re lucky, Link’s got something up his sleeve for the fourth quarter, in terms of a larger project. With such a gorgeous all-around delivery, “Fall In Love” has wings to take off and if there’s more in the stash on par with this, we’re going all going to be reaping the benefits.
