GOOD Music Celebrates Signing Fast-Rising Rappers Valee And Sheck Wes

GOOD Music is starting off 2018 with a bang, with the announcement that they are signing two rising rappers Valee and Sheck Wes. The signings are significant in showing the label’s commitment to not only signing new artists but also ones that are moving the needle in different ways.

Chicago’s Valee has been bubbling in the underground for quite some time, mainly off the strength of his singles “Shell,” and more recently, “I Got Whatever.” His laid-back demeanor and flow is a major departure from what most people would think, as he’s completely removed from the rough-and-tumble style of the infamous “Drill” music the city is known for. GOOD Music president Pusha T announced the signing earlier this week in an Instagram post.

The news followed another exciting announcement: Model-turned-rapper Sheck Wes has also signed with GOOD Music through a joint venture with Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack imprint and Interscope records.

Sheck is somewhat of a legendary figure in his New York. The Harlem born rapper has amassed a who’s who of support from rappers, designers, and even famous celebrities. His brand of music is loud and brash yet also contains a bit of introspection as seen in his “Live Sheck Wes Die Sheck Wes” video from last year. How did he celebrate the signing? By releasing his video for “Mo Bamba,” which features him —- broken foot and all —- milly rocking with his homies.

The future seems bright for these two, so here’s hoping that we get a proper release from both sooner than later.
