Kanye West And Kim Kardashian Named Their New Daughter Chicago In Homage To Kanye’s Hometown

The news about Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s new daughter is slowly trickling out as the family decides to release each detail. It was Kim who broke the news that their new baby was born on Monday, via a surrogate mother. Kim revealed that the family welcomed their healthy, new 7-pound 6-ounce baby girl into the world on her Twitter account and personal website, and now she’s revealed the latest and most desired detail thus far: The baby’s name.

According to Kim, the couple named their new baby girl Chicago, as in the hometown of Kanye. Orthodox names are clearly not the couple’s style, with 4-year-old North West and 2-year-old Saint West preceding little Chi, and while naming her Kanye might actually have been the most Kanye name possible, this has to be a close second.

Chicago is the first of as many as three babies the Kardashian/Jenner family is set to welcome into the world this year, with sisters Khloe and Kylie either rumored or confirmed to be pregnant as well.

Kanye’s hometown is clearly near and dear to his heart, with him dedicating songs to the city and shouting out Chicago often. Now, he’s paid the city another great homage that probably can’t be topped.
