Watch Vince Staples Perform A New Verse For James Blake’s ‘Timeless’ At Glastonbury

Vince Staples has been a very busy man. The Long Beach rapper, over the last month, launched a youth institute, dropped a visual for his Clams Casino collaboration “All Nite,” and was recently announced as a feature on Schoolboy Q’s new album. Also, according to his most recent interview with Fader, he’s working on a new EP titled Prima Donna.  Still, Staples made time to play Glastonbury with everyone’s favorite Brit, James Blake.

Blake’s newest release,  hosts “Timeless,” the song he and Vince performed.

“Timeless” comes from Blake’s newest release The Colouring Book. But, Vince wasn’t featured on the original song, so concertgoers were essentially treated to a never-before-heard verse from a collaboration nobody knew was in the works. It could actually be the return of a favor since Staples will feature Blake on his upcoming project.

The “Norf Norf” rapper’s lyrics are typically nihilistic but given the somber tones of “Timeless” they feel right at home.

“Ocean wasn’t made for Vince, motions leave me motor sick
Couldn’t ride the Love Boat, jumped into the lone abyss
Rather die alone than build a happy home, now I’m gone”

Prima Donna doesn’t have a release date yet, but, if you’re pining for more James Blake, The Colouring Book is available now on your streaming app of choice.
