186 days until Star Wars: ‘Return of the Jedi’ cast don’t know what Ewoks are in rare film

In 1982, a strange video was created during the filming of “Return of the Jedi.” A pseudo-documentary starring 11-year old Warwick Davis, “Return of the Ewok” is a fictional account of how the boy landed his role as Wicket and came to be part of the final Star Wars film. Clocking in at 24 minutes, the rare behind-the-scenes footage includes cameos by Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher…all in costume.

You can watch the glorified home video in its entirety below, but the footage of the main cast begins around the 7:30 minute mark. In costume, Davis approaches Harrison Ford”s trailer for advice non where Ewoks live, but the actor has no idea what an Ewok is. Neither Hamill nor Fisher have any clue either, though Carrie takes the initiative and sends Davis to probable doom in the wastes of Tatooine.

Should you choose to follow Warwick Davis' entire adventure – including a run-in with C-3P0, R2-D2, and Chewbacca – Part Two is available here!
