Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal couldn’t find true love in their first onscreen pairing in “Brokeback Mountain” (for obvious reasons), but now the pair are in talks to reunite in the new romantic drama “Love and Other Drugs” for 20th Century Fox and New Regency.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Drugs” is adapted from Jamie Reidy’s nonfiction novel “Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra salesman.”  Reidy was a Pfizer pharmaceutical rep in the late 90s and exposed the practices of the industry in his book.  The movie will find Gyllenhaal playing a salesman who falls for a woman with Parkinson’s played by Hathaway.

The picture will mark director Ed Zwick’s first film at 20th Century Fox since 1998’s “The Seige.” He brought his long-in-the-works passion project “Defiance” to the screen last winter.

Hathaway recently finished production on Tim Burton’s “Alice and Wonderland” and has “Get Smart 2” set for production next year.  She’ll begin starring in “Twelfth Night” in Shakespeare in the Park, in New York City’s Central Park, next week.

Gyllenhall has both Jerry Bruckheimer’s “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” and David O. Russell’s troubled comedy “Nailed” in the can.  “Time” hits theaters next May, “Nailed” is looking for distribution.

Fox hopes to begin production on “Drugs” sometime this fall.
