Lindsay Price has landed one of the lead roles in ABC’s “Witches of Eastwick” pilot, the latest dark sign for NBC’s “Lipstick Jungle.”

Loosely based on the feature film of the same name (and even more loosely based on the John Updike novel), “Witches of Eastwick” focuses on a trio of witches learning to use their powers.

Think “Lipstick Jungle” meets “Charmed,” we guess.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Price will play a shy reporter for a local newspaper.

The show’s previously cast witch will be played by Jamie Ray Newman.

It should be noted that “Witches of Eastwick” would be in second position to “Lipstick Jungle” for Price, a contractual scenario wherein if NBC decides to renew its series, Price would have to exit “Witches” if it were also sent to series.

NBC has shuffled “Lipstick Jungle” around its schedule in its second season, failing to find any ratings traction on either Wednesday or Friday nights. However, the show’s fanbase is fairly vocal and the idea of a cable home for the series has been floated as a possibility.

Other credits for Price include “Beverly Hills 90210” and “Pepper Dennis.”

In other casting news, newcomer Taylor Schilling has landed the lead role in NBC’s nursing dramedy “Mercy,” playing a young nurse takes a job at mercy Hospital after a tour in Iraq. James Tupper was previously cast in the pilot.
