HitFix’s Katie Hasty caught up with Akon at the American Music Awards last week for a quick chat about upcoming projects and collaborations.
The rapper-producer has projects with newcomers Jeffree Star and Wizkid in the pipeline for 2014, and joked that he’s “pretty much collaborating with everybody in the music industry.”
He then revealed that his No. 1 jam of the year is Blacc’s “Wake Me Up.”
When Hasty suggested that he record with Blacc, Akon lit up saying, “I haven’t did that yet…”
Maybe 2014 will be their year together.
