Will Alexander Skarsgard star in ‘Fifty Shades?’

With Saturday’s departure of Charlie Hunnam from the upcoming “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie, Universal is looking for a new leading man. According to The Hollywood Reporter, one of the names being considered is Alexander Skarsgard of “True Blood.”
Skarsgard isn’t the only name apparently on the list however.  Other potential candidates include Jamie Dornan (“Once Upon a Time”), Theo James (“Underworld: Awakening”), and Christian Cooke (2013’s “Romeo and Juliet”). While not specifically mentioned in the article, many out there would still like to see Matthew Bomer take the role. An online petition requesting Bomer (and Alexis Bledel) currently has more than 88,000 supporters. Of course, Dakota Johnson has already been cast as the film’s heroine.
All of these casting rumors (and requests) come amidst word that Oscar-nominated screenwriter Patrick Marber has been hired to do a polish on the script. Marber previously worked with “Fifty Shades’ director Sam Taylor-Johnson on a short film, “Love You More.”
“Fifty Shades of Grey” is due to hit theaters summer 2014, no matter who is playing the male lead.
Do tell us what you think, whom do you want to see in the roles?
