AMC’s next drama series “The Walking Dead” will be lurching onto the small screen on Sunday, October 31 with a special 90-minute premiere.
The Halloween premiere keeps “The Walking Dead” in the familiar Sunday 10 p.m. time slot currently occupied by “Mad Men” for the remainder of its limited Season One run.
AMC is launching “The Walking Dead,” based on the Image Comics series created by Robert Kirkman, with a six-episode season, focusing on a group of survivors in the aftermath of a particularly gruesome zombie apocalypse.
The series stars Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Sara Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Jeffrey DeMunn and more, though fans of the comic know that nobody’s presence should be taken for granted and that any character can be devoured at any time.
Kirkman is serving as executive producer along with David Alpert and Gale Anne Hurd. The series was adapted for AMC by writer-director Frank Darabont, also an executive producer.
