Angela Bassett and Julian McMahon team for untitled FOX CIA drama

Former “Alias” co-star Angela Bassett is heading back into the espionage game, this time with “Nip/Tuck’s” Julian McMahon at her side.

The duo are both in negotiations to star in FOX’s upcoming as-yet-untitled CIA drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Produced by Karyn Usher (“Bones,” “Prison Break”), the show centers on a 14-year-old named Jane Forsythe (Saxon Sharbino), who is the orphaned daughter of a CIA agent. An enigmatic rogue agent (MacMahon) takes her under his wing, indoctrinating her into the world of espionage. Bassett would play the director of the CIA.

Oscar nominee Bassett (“What’s Love Got To Do With It?”) can currently be seen in “This Means War,” while McMahon was recently seen in “Red.”
