Interview: Anthony Mackie ‘would love’ to be a part of ‘Black Panther’ adaptation

Marvel will be unveiling the next superhero to get a movie franchise at Comic-Con in San Diego this summer, and rumor has it that the Black Panther will get his. And actor Anthony Mackie wouldn’t mind getting a piece of the action, if that’s the case.

During interviews in promoting his new movie “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” HitFix asked if Mackie has been asked to be a part of the comic adaptation casting.

“I was hoping I would be the Incredible Hulk, but that didn’t work out,” Mackie replied, laughing. “I would love to be a part of [‘Black Panther’]. I love Black Panther and I love the story behind it. It would be cool to be a part of it.”

Mackie and his “Abe Lincoln” cohort Benjamin Walker came up with some other suggestions.

“They might get johnny depp.”

“Clooney.”

“I think Christian Bale would be a good Black Panther.”

In case you missed it, HitFix has some much more, um, practical suggestions.
