After locking down big roles in “Terminator: Salvation,” “Clash of the Titans” and James Cameron’s highly-anticipated “Avatar,” Sam Worthington is jumping back into the real world. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Worthington is attached to star in an American remake of the Danish thriller “The Candidate.”
The original film finds a defense attorney who goes after a group of blackmailers after he is falsely accused of murder. Consequently, nothing is as it seems and the drama really end up centering on the suspicious death of the lawyer’s father. The picture opened in Denmark last fall, but currently has no U.S. distributor.
The Summit Entertainment flick will be adapted by Beau Willimon who wrote the acclaimed play “Farragut North.” No director has been announced as of yet.
Worthington will next be seen in “Avatar” this December and “Clash of the Titans” in March.
