Best and Worst of ‘Fury’: Logan Lerman, Shia Labeouf, the Horrors of War

David Ayer's “Fury” has finally hit theaters and American moviegoers are getting their chance to weigh in on the World War II thriller starring Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena, former “Walking Dead” star Jon Bernthal and Shia “Can we just laugh now about all that stuff last Winter?” Labeouf.  In general, critics have been mostly positive.  “Fury” has a 63 rating on Metacritic (equivalent to 3 out 5 stars) and an 80% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The HitFix staff?  To say there were differing opinions would be something of an understatement.

“Fury's” strength is in the World War II era Ayer and his crew have recreated for the screen.  We've never seen a European theater so muddy before and it's hard to recall a World War II film where tanks were so integral to the film's plot. It all looks very authentic.  No one will argue with that.  The rest?  Well…

HitFix put “Fury” under our best and worst microscope.  You can find the results in the embedded story gallery at the bottom of this post.
