Pamela Adlon has snagged the female lead in CBS’ comedy pilot “Ace in the Hole.”

The pilot stars Adam Carolla as a driving instructor, husband and father of two. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adlon will play the main character’s wife, a nurse.

Adlon has played Marcy Runkle on Showtime’s “Californication” for the show’s first two seasons and its upcoming third installment. She also starred in HBO’s “Lucky Louie.” For many TV fans, though, Adlon’s best known as the voice of Bobby Hill on FOX’s “King of the Hill.”

The trade report on Adlon’s casting indicates that if “Ace” is picked up to series, she’d move to CBS full-time, though that wouldn’t necessarily prevent her from shooting the occasional episode for corporate sibling Showtime.
