Cara Delevingne thinks female superhero costumes are sexist, doesn’t understand irony

Cara Delevingne came down hard on the superhero genre during a recent interview with Empire Magazine. Her thoughts are particularly interesting and timely since Delevingne is starring as Enchantress in Warner Bros.upcoming superhero flick “Suicide Squad.”

Delevingne said all three girls in “Suicide Squad” have the best roles in her opinion, before slamming the genre:

“Generally though, superhero movies are totally sexist. Female superheroes are normally naked or in bikinis,” Delevingne said. “No one would be able to fight like that. Wonder Woman, how the hell does she fight? She would be dead in a minute.”

She”s not wrong. When it comes to wardrobe, not all superheroes are created equally. The men seem to always get full-body armor – or at least clothes that haven”t had a blowtorch taken to them – while the women are left in midriff baring tops and impractical shoes.

Wait a minute…

Well. This is awkward. The only skin we can see in the above photo belongs to the ladies. Katana is the most covered, with only some rips in her leggings and copious amounts of cleavage. Harley Quinn is dressed more for a BDSM rave than crime-fighting, especially in those sky-high stilettos. But what about Delevingne”s Enchantress?

She appears to be half-naked…in a bikini.
