Marvel head Kevin Feige has been talking about casting Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One in “Doctor Strange” to EW.
Essentially, Feige said that the character on the page might be seen as stereotypical, and as such, they felt at liberty to play with what and who The Ancient One is and can be.
