The first minute of ‘The X-Files’ is here and it’s … familiar

The truth of what we'll see in the upcoming new episodes of “The X-Files” is out there, but you won't find much of it in the show's first minute, which was released on the show's website yesterday.

It's basically a summary of the first nine seasons: Mulder voiceovers about how, after his sister was abducted, he dedicated the rest of his life to trying to find out what happened to her, becoming an FBI agent charged with investigating paranormal cases. And then he got a skeptical scientist partner named Dana Scully and the rest is history. Until January 24, when the show will return after a 13-year absence.

It's new footage that reveals almost nothing. Which, if you think about it, is pretty consistent with the series. This should be good.
