“Pushing Daisies” may have been cancelled, but Kristin Chenoweth won’t be missing from the small screen for long.

Emmerson Cod’s Itty Bitty has been tapped as a co-star in “Legally Mad,” a new NBC dramedy pilot from David E. Kelley.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Legally Mad” focuses on a young woman who takes a job at her father’s law firm. Chenoweth’s character will be the quirkily named Skippy Pylon, whose relentless cheerfulness masks underlying psychosis.

Sounds fun!

“I could only picture Kristin playing this role,” Kelley tells the trade paper. “I’ve wanted to work with her for a long time and can’t wait to reveal her as someone who’s completely mad.”

“Legally Mad” is set up at Warner Bros. TV, where Kelley has a new deal and where Chenoweth recently completed work on the second and final season of ABC’s “Pushing Daisies.”

Chenoweth earned her first Emmy nomination for her work as Olive Snook on “Pushing Daisies.” Currently appearing on the big screen in the hit comedy “Four Christmases,” Chenoweth won a Tony in 1999 for “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” and was also Tony nominated for her role in “Wicked” five years later.
