Why Deadpool killed at the box office

If you haven”t heard, Deadpool slayed at the box office this weekend. According to Box Office Mojo, the film is estimated to make $150 million domestically by the close of the four-day weekend and has already made more that $250 million worldwide.

The big question now is why it hit so big. The fact that the raunchy superhero comedy was going up against the critically panned Zoolander 2 and How to Be Single, which received a lukewarm critical response at best, is certainly a factor, but there are many more.

In the video above Louis Virtel, Roth Cornet, and Chris Eggertsen discuss all of the elements that led to Deadpool”s triumph.
