During the spring premiere of “The Flash”, which returns January 19, 2016, Barry, Cisco and Dr. Wells will face off against some familiar friends-turned-enemies from Earth-2.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Robbie Amell will be returning to “The Flash”, but not as the fallen hero Ronnie Raymond. Ronnie Raymond was killed in the season two premiere of “The Flash” when he used his Firestorm matrix to help Barry close the black hole over Central City. When he died, Martin Stein was forced to find a new partner with whom he could share the Firestorm powers. His wife, Caitlin Snow, was left without her husband, and has since been exploring a romantic relationship with Earth-2 speedster Jay Garrick.
When Robbie Amell returns to “The Flash” in the latter half of the season, he will be playing the Earth-2 version of Ronnie Raymond, a dangerous villain named Deathstorm. Deathstorm will be joined by Killer Frost, Earth-2 version of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker). Both Raymond and Snow are married in Earth-2 and will cause trouble for Team Flash (Barry, Cisco, and Wells) when they travel to Earth-2 to learn more about Zoom.
