‘Delilah Dirk’: Graphic novel adventurer coming to the big screen

As Tomb Raider gets a cinematic reboot and Indiana Jones is coming back for one more ride, another adventurer is getting set to come to the big screen.

Disney has purchased the film rights to Delilah Dirk And The Turkish Lieutenant, the New York Times best-selling graphic novel about a globe-trotting swashbuckler set in the 19th century, this according to Deadline. When Dirk was published in 2012, it was so well received that it won Publishers Weekly annual Best Children's Book award. It has since resulted in a follow up, Delilah Dirk and the King's Shilling, published earlier this year.

The publication reports that the film will be live-action and will be produced by Roy Lee (Lego Movie, How to Train Your Dragon) as well as Mark Mower (Bernie) and Justin Giritlian.

No release date is yet set for the film.
