‘Doctor Who’ isn’t done with Missy yet, confirms Michelle Gomez is back

This fall, The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Clara (Jenna Coleman) will face an enemy they thought they”d vanquished. After all, you can”t keep a good regenerating villain down.

Michelle Gomez will return for the Series 9 premiere, a two-part episode written by Steven Moffat. The episodes are entitled “The Magician”s Apprentice” and “The Witch”s Familiar,” respectively, and will be directed by Hettie MacDonald. Some fans may recognize her as the director of the iconic 2007 “Doctor Who” episode, “Blink.”

Moffat, cryptic as ever, had this to say about Missy”s return. “Everybody hide – Michelle Gomez as Missy was an instant hit last year, so she”s straight back to plague the Doctor and Clara in the series opener. But what brings her back into their lives is the last thing they”d expect.”

As for Michelle Gomez, she couldn”t be more thrilled to step back into Missy”s impeccable Victorian day dress. “Things have been a little beige since I left Missy behind, so I'm delighted to be putting my lippie back on. I'm positively dying to see The Doctor again!”

“Doctor Who” returns to BBC One and BBC America in the fall of 2015.
