The battle for control of Westeros spirals even further out-of-control in Season 5 of “Game of Thrones,” as more players enter the ring.
After four years centered on the blood feud and fallout between the Lannisters and the Starks, other nobles houses of the Seven Kingdoms are beginning to pull focus. This year will see the show travel to Dorne to the first time.
For those of you who don”t recall, Tyrion Lannister had his niece Myrcella Baratheon shipped off to Sunspear in Dorne while he was Hand of the King, a hostage to ensure Dorne”s cooperation with Lannister rule. The only daughter of Cersei Lannister then fell off the proverbial map, never to be seen again. Cersei was obviously displeased.
Now Myrcella Baratheon returns to the screen, with Nell Tiger Free recast in the role.
HBO also released two brand-new clips from the upcoming season of “Game of Thrones” and slew of character photos.
In this first clip, Tyrion questions Varys” motives in helping him escape.
Meanwhile, at the Wall, Jon Snow and Mance Rayder have a discussion about Stannis, survival, and pride.
