She may have only taken home one Grammy last week, but Duffy was the big winner at the Brit Awards in London tonight. She took home three trophies, including the big one: the Mastercard British Album of the year for “Rockferry.” Her major label debut, which captured the Grammy for best pop vocal album, has sold more than 5 million worldwide. The Welsh singer was also named British female solo artist and British breakthrough act.
American rock band Kings of Leon continues their British love affair. The group’s “Only by the Night,” which was the second highest seller in the U.K. in 2008 behind “Rockferry,” garnered International Album and the group was named International Group.
Other Americans having good luck across the pond included Katy Perry, who was named International Female Solo Artist, and Kanye West, who was named International Male Solo Artist.

Duffy lead the nominations with four nods. Coldplay, who was up for three awards, went home empty handed, as did triple-nominee Adele.
