Exclusive clip: It’s a kill shot on ‘Women of Homicide’

On TLC's “Women of Homicide,” (Wed. at 9:00 p.m.), we discover that the hard part of the job isn't just the blood and guts. In this exclusive clip, watch as Atlanta-based Detective Summer Benton is stuck with the unhappy task of telling a victim's family that yes, their loved one was executed. Ouch.

In this week's episode, a Cincinnati drug deal leaves one man dead, and another paralyzed from the neck down. Detective Jennifer Mitsch works diligently to find those responsible. Meanwhile, Benton hunts for the person who murdered a business owner in front of his own home.

While there are approximately 15,000 murders per year in the United States, only 15% of detectives dedicated to solving these crimes are women. TLC goes inside this world, following the lives of three female homicide detectives in the major cities of Cincinnati and Atlanta. These women work relentlessly with their partners to bring closure to victims” families by pursuing the truth and putting the guilty behind bars. Viewers will join the investigation, witnessing their persistent efforts firsthand – exploring their challenges and sharing in their hard-earned triumphs.

Are you watching “Women in Homicide”? Are you surprised by the 15 percent statistic?
