Exclusive clip from ‘The Hundred-Foot Journey’: ‘You are trespassing too’

What starts with a “Bonjour!” ends with an insult in this brand new clip from DreamWorks' “The Hundred-Foot Journey,” exclusive to HitFix.

Helen Mirren plays acclaimed restaurant owner Madame Mallory who approaches some new visitors to her tiny French town. As Papa Kadam (Om Puri) and son Hasan (Manish Dayal) poke around an unkempt property to investigate its potential for a restaurant, Mallory gets a bit poke-y, too.

A couple civil barbs over trespassing are exchanged, then Papa has a quick lesson for the Madame: just because he inquired about getting a discount at another potential site for his family's Indian eatery “doesn't mean I'm poor. It means I'm thrifty.”

If the trailer to the flick is any indication, the temperature's only set to rise in this overseas culinary, cultural adventure.

“The Hundred-Foot Journey” heads to theaters on Aug. 8, directed by Lasse Hallström and based on the novel of the same same.
