Though she doesn't name her attacker and gives limited details, the ones she does offer — that she was tortured with a knife, locked in her house, and escaped wearing nothing but a towel — suggest she was the victim of sexual assault.
Last year, Esther was attacked by a non-Amish boyfriend, suffering a fractured nose, face and broken teeth.
