‘Fear the Walking Dead’ opens in one of the creepiest locations imaginable

“Fear the Walking Dead” is set to debut on Sunday, and in advance of the premiere AMC has released the first three minutes of the “Walking Dead” spinoff/prequel on Facebook. There's a bit of a “28 Days Later” feel to the opening, which takes place in an abandoned church occupied by people who appear to be, shall we say, down on their luck (one of them is heartthrobb-y series star Frank Dillane).

It's not exactly the place I'd expect the show to open — I would've thought a sunny suburban street or maybe even an office high rise, for example — but the dark, decrepit setting has a haunted house feel that starts things off on an effectively creepy note.
