First look at ‘Gotham’ star Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock

Get ready for a bunch of these first-looks in the next couple weeks. FOX and WBTV are teasing the first look at Donal Logue in character from the upcoming straight-to-series DC Comics adaptation “Gotham.”

Logue will be playing Detective Harvey Bullock, described as Future Commissioner Gordon's “rough-around-the-edges” partner and mentor. The character “plays loose with police procedure, but he gets results… and he does it with old-school, forceful panache.”

Benjamin McKenzie is playing Gordon in the not-really-a-Batman-prequel.

In the pilot, the dynamic is that Bullock is the Gotham City veteran, an old salt who knows the way the city works, knows the way the wheels of justice turn, while Gordon is the idealist, still inexperienced enough to believe he can do good. Which man will shape the other more? Well, I guess we'll have to watch “Gotham” to find out.

Bruno Heller wrote the “Gotham” pilot, while David Nutter is directing.

In addition to McKenzie and Logue, “Gotham” stars Zabryna Guevara (Captain Essen), Erin Richards (Barbara Kean), Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin), David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne), Camren Bicondova (Selina Kyle), Sean Pertwee (Alfred Pennyworth) and Jada Pinkett Smith (Fish Mooney).
