‘Frozen 2’ is official, Disney is never gonna ‘Let It Go’ now

Be prepared for an all-new onslaught of musical numbers you can't escape. The Queen of Arendelle is getting a second full-length animated feature!

While news about “Star Wars: Episode VIII” and “Star Wars: Rogue One” dominated today”s Disney shareholders meetings, another major tidbit slipped out.

To no one's surprise, “Frozen 2” is officially in development. After confirming “The Good Dinosaur” will be released this fall, Disney chief Bob Iger summoned Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf, to join the meeting for the official announcement. Gad joked that in honor of Star Wars, the title of the sequel would be “Frozen 2: Rogue One.”

Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, who directed the first “Frozen,” and the short “Frozen Fever,” have returned to develop the sequel.

“We enjoyed making “Frozen Fever” so much and being back in that world with those characters,” said John Lasseter. “Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we”re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.”

There were no further details as to the plot or which of the cast would be returning.
