‘Game of Thrones’: Obama received advanced copies because it’s good to be POTUS

If you want to find out whether Jon Snow is really dead, just ask the man who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. He”ll know.

The closely guarded secrets from Game of Thrones sixth season are known to just a select group of people, one of them is President Barack Obama. In an interview at GoT“s Hollywood premier, executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss explained that Obama”s a big fan of the HBO series and was eager to see the new shows. While they were more than happy to comply with his request, they found his interest a bit surreal, this according to The Independent.

“Finding out the President wanted advanced copies of the episodes…was a very strange moment,” Weiss said.

Benioff added, “When the commander-in-chief says 'I want to see advanced episodes,' what are you gonna do?”

Considering all of the classified information Obama is already privileged to, it”s safe to say that producers probably don”t need to worry about a leak from the Oval Office.

Game of Thrones kicks off its new season on April 24 at 9 p.m.
