As she made clear via Twitter over the weekend, Gillian Anderson — currently starring as Blanche in a Brooklyn stage production of A Streetcar Named Desire — is flattered that you think she would make a good James Bond. That said, she knows the chances of her ever being cast are slim to none.

That tweet was followed up on Monday by Anderson's response — during a Tumblr Q&A to promote Streetcar — to a questioner who brought up the fan-driven campaign to have her fill Daniel Craig's shoes:

Anderson would indeed be a great Bond, but like Gillian herself, I'm not holding my breath.
