Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield take charge in new ‘Ender’s Game’ trailer

Yesterday, Summit Entertainment released the final one-sheet for “Ender’s Game,” and today they have given us the final trailer as well (you can watch it above).  The movie, directed by Gavin Hood, is based on Orson Scott Card’s novel and stars Asa Butterfield in the title role as well as Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis, and Hailee Steinfeld.
The movie has been surrounded by controversy due to Card’s stance on gay rights. Not surprisingly, members of the Comic-Con panel answered questions on that subject last month at the event in San Diego.
As you can see, this new trailer for “Ender’s Game” offers us a whole lot of scenes of destruction.   As with the previous trailer, it features voiceover by Harrison Ford’s Colonel Hyrum Graff. Graff situates us in a world where an evil alien presence has nearly wiped out mankind and where children are seen as our only hope in the war that is to come against the aliens.
The trailer is special effects-laden and gives us images of not just the Earth being attacked, but also massive alien ships as well as looks at the International Fleet. Plus, it gives us some glimpses into just what Ender is forced to undergo to help save humanity.
What do you think? Are you excited to see the movie or has the whole controversy put you off the sci-fi epic?
“Ender’s Game” will launch on November 1, 2013.
