Jason Bateman, Tina Fey and Adam Driver in the trailer for ‘This is Where I Leave You’

Jason Bateman has been making some pretty interesting moves out of the comic relief periphery of comedies and into his own as a leading man as of late, and he has a pretty stellar 2014 on the way. There's the sequel to “Horrible Bosses” in November and heading up the Peter Glanz dramedy “The Longest Week” as well. Then there's Shawn Levy's “This is Where I Leave You,” which debuted a new trailer today.

The film, written by Jonathan Tropper and based on his novel, tells the story of four siblings who come back home to bury their father and, naturally, revisit their childhood and all the life lessons they've learned since leaving home. It's a pretty standard tale, but here it could really sing as the cast Levy has assembled is fantastic. Bateman, Adam Driver, Tina Fey and Corey Stoll play the siblings, with Jane Fonda as their over-sharing mother. Rose Byrne, hot off of “Neighbors,” also stars.

Given the September 12 release date and the pedigree of the cast, you can probably expect this one to bow at the Toronto Film Festival later this year. Levy is coming off “The Internship,” which got hammered by critics and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. So he could use a hit. Maybe “This is Where I Leave You” will deliver.
