Jay-Z’s ‘Blueprint’ plans chart domination next week

Jay-Z easily moves into the penthouse next week as “The Blueprint 3” tops all CD sales. The title could sell as many as 400,000 copies, predicts Hits Daily Double, making it the best opening frame since Dave Matthews Band’s “Big Whiskey and the Groo Grux King” surpassed 400,000 in June.

Whitney Houston, who debuted at No. 1 this week with sales of more than 300,000, drops to No. 3 with estimated sales of 80,000 (Don’t despair, Houston fans, she’ll see a bump up again after her “Oprah” appearances Sept. 14-15.)  On Hits’ chart, the Beatles’ remastered “Abbey Road” “Sgt. Pepper’s,”  “The Beatles” and “Rubber Soul” all look to be strong enough to enter in the top 10. Those titles will not be on Billboard’s Top 200 as it does not include catalog; instead they will be on Billboard’s comprehensive chart.

Raekwon’s “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II” will also come in the top 5, with sales of around 65,000.
