Last night, proving that it hasn't learned from Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, NBC premiered its newest attempt to revive the variety show: Maya & Marty. While Maya Rudolph and Martin Short are more than capable hosts for a series like this, the first episode was a little rocky – save for a fun appearance from Kenan Thompson.
Instead of making it their own, Maya & Marty feels like an extension of Saturday Night Live. It's not all bad, though, because it means that now we get Kenan Thompson doing his perfect Steve Harvey impression (best reaction shots in the game) on another sketch show. On Maya & Marty, Thompson takes on NBC's Little Big Shots (with a guest from another SNL alumnus: Jimmy Fallon). Watch the bit below.
