Kitty Pride, Colossus and other mutants power up in new ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ clip

I'm very much looking forward to Bryan Singer's “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” Singer's “X2” is, to me, one of the best comic book movies to date, full of a lot of the flavor and tricks that Marvel is employing in their quest to build a universe on screen, and this latest incarnation from the director hopes to forward Fox's own universe, the X-universe, and the “Days of Future Past” storyline is a great launching off point for that.

On the MTV Movie Awards this evening, we got a sweet look at one of the film's action sequences featuring Ellen Page's Kitty Pride, Daniel Cudmore's Colossus, Omar Sy's Bishop and a host of other mutants giving you a taste of the powers they have to offer. It looks like they come up against the future iteration of the Sentinels, which as those who read the original yarn know is probably just Singer and company's spin on Nimrod. The whole thing is basically an extended look at what CinemaCon audiences saw in Las Vegas earlier this month and it has me pumped for the film.

Check out the clip above. “X-Men: Days of Future Past” hits theaters May 23.
