As “American Horror Story” fans know, Lady Gaga is set to join this season of the anthology series. “AHS” creator Ryan Murphy revealed some juicy details about the nature of her character at today”s TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour.
First, it looks as though Gaga — who begins shooting on Monday — will be making her way around some of the “AHS” players…in the biblical sense. Okay, she”s not going to make out with the WHOLE cast.
However, when asked how LGBT themes would play out in “American Horror Story: Hotel”, Murphy said, “Well Dennis O”Hare”s character is named Elizabeth Taylor, so that falls into that category…Also, Lady Gaga plays a character who has relationships with Matt (Bomer), and Angela (Bassett), and Cheyenne (Jackson).”
As to the nature of her character, it sounds like it will be pure, unadulterated, delicious Gaga evil – hopefully with a healthy dose of batsanity. “She plays Elizabeth,” Murphy said. “She owns the hotel and is a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art, and fashion…and people.”
“She has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode and plays out throughout the rest of the season,” Murphy concluded.
Maybe she”ll actually CONSUME people? One can dream…
American Horror Story: Hotel premieres on Oct. 7 on FX.
