NBC taketh away (in the form of “Constantine”) but NBC also giveth. The first trailer for “Blindspot” starring Jaimie Alexander (“Thor,” “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.”) has arrived and if you”ve been waiting for someone to give Lady Sif the spotlight and the ability to kick butt?

The official synopsis positions “BlindSpot” as a unique twist on the crime-solving genre:

A vast international plot explodes when a beautiful Jane Doe is discovered naked in Times Square, completely covered in mysterious, intricate tattoos with no memory of who she is or how she got there. But there's one tattoo that is impossible to miss: the name of FBI agent Kurt Weller, emblazoned across her back. “Jane,” Agent Weller and the rest of the FBI quickly realize that each mark on her body is a crime to solve, leading them closer to the truth about her identity and the mysteries to be revealed.

One of my favorite episodes of “S.H.I.E.L.D.” this season dealt with an amnesiac Lady Sif who still retained all the muscle memory due to her from centuries as a warrior. Alexander has shown she has a knack for playing battle-ready women who are also vulnerable and human. Based on this trailer, it looks like “Blindspot” is ready to let Alexander take her skills to the next level as a small-screen action star.

“Blindspot” is being produced by Greg Berlanti. He is also responsible for “Arrow,” “The Flash,” and the upcoming “DC”S Legends of Tomorrow.” While the trailer for “Blindspot” has DNA and blood-testing showing Jane Doe as human, her specific set of skills put her on par with any man in a green hood.

“Blindspot” is currently scheduled for Mondays at 10/9c on NBC this fall.
