Mark your calendars, “Lost” fans. The ABC drama’s sixth and final season has a timeslot and a premiere date.
ABC announced on Thursday (Nov. 19) that “Lost” will kick off its last season on Tuesday, Feb. 2 with a two-hour premiere from 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET.
The two-hour premiere is titled “LA X.”
“Lost” will then move into its regular 9 p.m. Tuesday time period the following week with an episode titled “What Kate Does.”
This will put “Lost” head-to-head with NBC’s coverage of the Winter Olympics for a chunk of February, defying the industry’s conventional wisdom to steer clear of the figure skating and luging.
Returning “Lost” stars include Naveen Andrews, Nestor Carbonell, Michael Emerson, Jeff Fahey, Matthew Fox, Jorge Garcia, Josh Holloway, Yunjin Kim, Ken Leung, Evangeline Lilly, Terry O”Quinn and Zuleikha Robinson.
There have also been reports on a number of thought-to-be-departed stars who will be back for the show’s final season, several of whom are mentioned in ABC’s press release. We’ve only included Terry O’Quinn’s name, because you didn’t seriously think we’d seen the last of Locke, right?
Lost began its acclaimed run on September 22, 2004. The 2005 Emmy winner for Outstanding Drama Series, “Lost” has also been nominated in the prestigious category the past two years. The show’s most recent win was for Emerson as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama earlier this year.
