Ben Affleck has added Jon Hamm and Rebecca Hall to complete the central love triangle in “The City,” his directorial follow-up to the Oscar nominated “Gone Baby Gone.”

An adaptation of Chuck Hogan’s “Prince of Thieves,” “The City” stars Affleck as the cocky leader of a group of bank robbers. On one of their heists, Affleck’s character becomes infatuated with a bank employee (Rebecca Hall) and begins to woo her, though she’s unaware of his occupation.

The story is a game of cat-and-mouse between the master thief and an upwardly mobile FBI agent (Hamm), who also has a thing for the leading lady.

According to Variety, production on “The Town” will begin next month in Boston with Affleck directing a script he rewrote from the draft by Hogan and Peter Craig.

Hamm will transition into “The Town “after completing work on the third season of AMC’s “Mad Men,” for which he recently earned his second Emmy nomination. Hamm was last seen on the big screen in “The Day The Earth Stood Still.”

A Golden Globe nominee earlier this year for “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” Hall’s credits include “The Prestige” and “Frost/Nixon.”
