‘Mad Men’ star Jon Hamm on what he’ll miss the most about Don Draper

Don Draper will soon be no more.

After seven seasons playing the troubled lothario on AMC's “Mad Men,” Jon Hamm seems about ready to move on, although he'll miss playing such a rich and complex (and Golden Globe-winning) role.

HitFix's Melinda Newman caught up with the actor at the show's PaleyFest panel presentation, and asked him about his feelings.

“I will always be grateful for the part,” he told us, “because its been an opportunity like no other. I don't think I'll take anything home [from] him — he's not maybe the greatest guy to take home — but I do really understand the character. And that said it's gonna be really nice to take off the suit, hang it up, and say goodbye.”

The first part of the final season of “Mad Men” premieres April 13.
