The critically-acclaimed and Emmy-nominated documentary series Making a Murderer is coming back for a second season, Netflix announced today.
The streaming service said that it will continue to cover the story of convicted murderer Steven Avery and his co-defendant Brendan Dassey. They note that Season 2 “will provide an in-depth look at the high-stakes post-conviction process, as well as, the emotional toll the process takes on all involved.”
In a statement, EPs Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos said, “The viewers” interest and attention has ensured that the story is not over, and we are fully committed to continuing to document events as they unfold.”
The launch date for Making a Murderer, which received six Emmy nominations including “Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series,” has not yet been announced.
