Marc Maron to join Netflix women’s wrestling series ‘G.L.O.W.’

Just a day after it was revealed that former Community star Alison Brie will lead women”s pro-wrestling TV program G.L.O.W., word is out that Marc Maron is also set to join the series.

Deadline is reporting that Maron, the man behind the mic on the popular WTF podcast and star of IFC”s recently-concluded Maron, will enter the ring on the Netflix show. The publication notes that he”ll play Sam Sylvia, a “washed-up Hollywood director who has a very complicated history with women – and now must lead 14 of them on the journey to wrestling stardom.”

G.L.O.W., which received a 10-episode order from the streaming service, is based on the pro-wrestling league that emerged in the late 1980s. So it”s certain that there will be lots of Spandex and teased hair. The show was created by Liz Flahive (Nurse Jackie) and Carly Mensch (Orange is the New Black) and will be executive produced by OINTB“s Jenji Kohan.

The release date has not yet been announced for G.L.O.W.
