Mark Ruffalo on returning for ‘Avengers 2’: ‘I’m there’

As far as “Avengers 2” is concerned, Mark Ruffalo is good to go.

The “Now You See Me” actor has formally “signed on” for the sequel to Joss Whedon’s extremely successful comic hero flick, though with a classic Hollywood hesitancy. “Unless they have a change of heart — and they have in the past — I’m there,” Ruffalo told HitFix earlier this month.

Something tells us there won’t be anything stopping The Hulk (er, Bruce Banner) for a return. “Avengers” has, to date, grossed more than $623 million, followed by “Iron Man 3,” in the comparitive dust with $372 million. He could have a dance date with returning cast like Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth.

“Now You See Me” is in theaters Friday. “The Avengers 2” is looking at a Spring 2014 start to shooting.
